WHO IS STIRRING UP TROUBLE IN SYRIA AND IRAN?

Who is stirring up trouble in Iran and Syria?

It’s the same folks who stirred up trouble in Libya, Iraq and Afghanistan … in other words, the US Government, along with their allies in Europe, and especially their very special ally: Israel. They’re at it again. It is business as usual for the few big shots who run the US Government, run the US Media, and run the US Military Industrial Complex.

Not long ago, in the early 2000’s, Americans were told they should hate the Afghan Mujahedin. We were supposed to hate them because they were fighting against US military that was invading their country. That was the same US-backed Mujahedin that had followed Osama bin Laden in the 80’s. At that time they were hailed by the Reagan administration as “heroes” and “freedom fighters” defending against an invasion by the Soviets. Can anyone remember the 80’s?

Well, since the 80’s, US politicians and news media have given new labels to the Mujahedin … labels like “National Liberation Army,” “Al Queda,” etc.. And according to US Government propaganda there are several of these “subversive” Muslim organizations cooperating to threaten our way of life. Some of the labels are names like “Muslim Brotherhood,” “Hamas,” “Taliban,” and yes, the “Mujahedin.”

The US Government changes labels of groups in that arena as it suits them. “Mujahedin” now have at least two designations … unfriendly, and friendly. You really need a program to keep score of the so-called “War On Terror.”

One of these labels is now “the MEK” (Mujahedin-e Khalq). This group, based in Iraq and working black ops for the US, is obviously a spin off of the old Mujahedin. “Black Ops” missions often fit into the plausible deniability category, in which there is no claim of responsibility for the action, and/or a false flag operation is used to give the appearance that another actor was responsible, or – most often – black operations involve extensive arrangements so as to be able to hide the fact that the black operation ever occurred. Black military operations, or paramilitary operations, can be used by various secret services to achieve or attempt to achieve an unusually sensitive goal. The methods used in black operations are also used in unconventional warfare. Depending on the precise situation in a given case, and the level of authoritarianism of the national government or other responsible party, some tasks will be conducted as black operations, while there are usually other activities that can be admitted openly. Black operations may include such things as assassination, sabotage, extortion, spying on allied countries or one’s own citizens, kidnapping, supporting resistance movements, torture, use of fraud to obtain funds, use of child soldiers, human experimentation, trafficking in contraband items, and false flag operations, among others.

Designations change for these kind of group … much like “Al Queda” – now labeled “terrorist.” It is a spin off of the old US-sponsored Al Queda back in the 80’s. The MEK was listed as a “terrorist organization” by US State Department in 1997. So, how is it that this organization has been funded by US money, and guided by the CIA?

The US Government is continually in bed with numerous “terrorist” organizations around the world. It uses them much like it used the Mob (Mafia) in America. While claiming to be against the Mob, the CIA paid known mobsters to be contract agents to stir up trouble and assassinate certain people. We know this was the case in the John Kennedy assassination, as well as other operations in the past.

We hear a lot these days on national news about the “brutality of the Iranian and the Syrian regimes.” They tell us that conflicts are raging inside those countries because the governments there are killing “peaceful protesters” who supposedly only want to voice their opinions. We hear that over 10,000 Syrian citizens have been cruelly slaughtered by Asaad’s military and that he is oppressing their civil rights to freedom of speech.

That is what we hear … and that is about all the average American knows about what is happening there.

IRAN PRESIDENT MOSADEK 1952

This is like deja vu: it is like 1953 when the US Government orchestrated the overthrow of the democratically-elected and nationally-popular government of Mohammad Mosadek. US citizens didn’t know what was happening then either. The US replaced Mosadek’s government with a dictator government under the Shaw Pahlavi.

Mosadek had lost favor when he nationalized Iran’s oil, removing control from the big oil corporations and giving it back to Iran. The Shaw, on the other hand, was friendly to big oil … so, the Shaw was their man. With US backing, the Shaw took and held power in Iran until 1979 when a national revolt kicked him out and replaced his government with their supreme religious leader Ayatollah Khomeini.

Shaw Pahlavi

To get rid of Mosadek and install the Shaw, the Eisenhower Government had issued lies and propaganda claiming that Mosaddeq was a Communist and an enemy of the US. Big oil didn’t like him, so their lap dog (the US Government) initiated “Operation Ajax” to get rid of Mosaddeq and install the Shaw instead, who happily returned control of Iran’s oil back to the big oil companies.

The 1953 CIA coup in Iran was named “Operation Ajax” and was engineered by a CIA agent named Kermit Roosevelt, the grandson of President Theodore Roosevelt. Capitalizing on the oil-nationalization showdown between Iran and Great Britain, which had thrown Iran into chaos and crisis, Kermit Roosevelt skillfully used a combination of bribery of Iranian military officials and CIA-engendered street protests to pull of the coup.

It’s all about oil

For the last several years Americans have been manipulated to hate the leaders of Syria and Iran. Why? Quite simply because those regimes (and the nations) wish to be left alone … much like they wanted (but didn’t get) back in 1953. They do not want to sell their souls to the Rothschild banking cabal, and they do not wish to be “westernized.” They don’t like the politics, the banking, the debt, or the morals of the West. So, the only way to bring countries like that into line with western powers is to ruin them and force regime change … either by financial manipulation or by military strike.

American hysteria is being stirred up so that most Americans are ready to approve the move to kick out Asaad in Syria, and change the government of Iran … much the same as Americans were stirred into a frenzy against Saddam Hussein, a decade ago, by accusations since proved to be lies. Of course, most of the propaganda came from Zionist-owned US media. The Zionists are perpetually scheming to steal or control all Arab lands, and they want to install the western (Rothschild) banking system. Thus, we hear patriots parroting how evil and wicked Iran’s Sharia banking system is. That’s because Sharia law doesn’t permit usury, and it makes the Rothschild banking system look bad.

The US Government and its Military Industrial Complex, working with the US News Media, paint grossly inaccurate pictures for public consumption. The Middle East has been split into many various political groups … most of them are creations of past and current CIA manipulation in that region. Certain Middle East factions among these are one day designated “friendly” then the next day called “terrorists” … depending upon the mood of the boys in Washington DC. The groups are switched to “friends” … and then back again to “enemies” whenever it suits the criminal US Government. Meanwhile, thousands of confused and manipulated Muslims in the Middle East are being killed, and governments continue to be switched out as moods swing in Washington DC. It is a game for the untouchables in the elite 1% group.

To the careful observer the crooked tactics can be recognized as western powers execute regime changes and manipulate politics in small countries. We already witnessed the workings of these powerful psychopaths as they paid “opposition factions” and financed civil wars to change regimes in Iraq and Libya. They literally flew pallets full of one-hundred-dollar bills in transport planes into Iraq at the start of that war. They used those tons of Ben Franklins to buy war lords and military support from among the decimated Iraqi people.

Interestingly, a few years ago we were told the Taliban in Afghanistan was “the enemy.” Today the Taliban is back in the government of Afghanistan and designated “friends” with US Government.

It doesn’t take too smart of a brain see that the US Government and Israel are behind all the unrest in the Middle East. The Syrian “opposition fighters” (the MEK) are financed, armed and manipulated by the US. Likewise, there are US-trained-and-led groups stirring up trouble in Iran … and the US news agencies tell us that average, peaceful citizens are protesting to have their voice heard. It is, in reality, a cruel hoax … a play directed by elite psychopaths in the West who count people’s lives as nothing.

  (Here’s the psychopath, Rudy Giuliani,
   consorting with MEK’s political leader
Maryam Rajavi in Paris, France. He,
and others like him, work with
   terrorist organizations and even
lobby for them to foment unrest in
nations where they want regime change.)

The US State Department, headed by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, has finalized arrangements to move the Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MEK), into the former US military base “Camp Liberty’ in Iraq. The US State Department is also appropriating US taxpayers’ money to make upgrades to the camp to accommodate the terrorist organization. In Foreign Policy Magazine’s article, “Are the MEK’s U.S. friends its worst enemies?,” it is indicated that up to 3,000 of these hired mercenaries are expected to move into the new site with the first two convoys already arriving at the camp over the last month.

Amazingly, MEK’s support base not only includes the US State Department, but also the United Nations, as well as a lobbying front including former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Howard Dean, Tom Ridge, John Lewis, Ed Rendell, former FBI Director Louis Freeh, retired General Wesley Clark, Lee Hamilton who oversaw the 9/11 Commission farce, former US Marine Corps Commandant General James Jones, and Alan Dershowitz. There are also members of the British Parliament including David Amess of the Parliamentary Committee for Iran Freedom, speaking on MEK’s behalf. Their lobbying efforts include full page adds in national newspapers including the Washington Post and the New York Times, as well as attending conferences in Paris, France where MEK’s political wing is based.

US politicians, many the most prominent proponents of the “War on Terror,” appeal to the President of the United States to de-list MEK as a terrorist organization. While hand-wringing humanitarian concerns are cited, what the ad fails to mention is that MEK has long served as an armed US-proxy to be turned on Iran and carry out a campaign of terror, as stated clearly in the Brookings Institution “Which Path to Persia?” report.

MEK is a Listed Terror Organization

MEK has carried out decades of brutal terrorist attacks, assassinations, and espionage against the Iranian government and its people, as well as targeting Americans … including the attempted kidnapping of US Ambassador Douglas MacArthur II, the attempted assassination of USAF Brigadier General Harold Price, the successful assassination of Lieutenant Colonel Louis Lee Hawkins, the double assassinations of Colonel Paul Shaffer and Lieutenant Colonel Jack Turner, and the successful ambush and killing of American Rockwell International employees William Cottrell, Donald Smith, and Robert Krongard.

Although these were viable targets, the fact is that they were US agents that were targeted by MEK. Notwithstanding, now the US is working in league with MEK … and probably were even at the time these men were being targeted.

Admissions to the deaths of the Rockwell International employees can be found within a report written by former US State Department and Department of Defense official Lincoln Bloomfield Jr. on behalf of the lobbying firm Akin Gump in an attempt to dismiss concerns over MEK’s violent past and how it connects to its current campaign of armed terror – a testament to the depths of depravity from which Washington and London lobbyists operate.

To this day MEK terrorists have been carrying out attacks inside Iran, killing political opponents, attacking civilian targets, as well as carrying out the US-Israeli program of targeting and assassinating Iranian scientists. MEK terrorists are also suspected of handling patsies in recent false flag operations carried out in India, Georgia, and Thailand, which have been ham-handedly blamed on the Iranian government.

US Has Been Supporting MEK for Years

This treason and overt criminality is not a recent turn of events. There are years of documented collaboration between the United States and MEK, including an extensive conspiracy formulated within US policy think-tank Brookings Institution’s 2009 “Which Path to Persia?” report, proposing to fully arm, train, and back MEK as it waged a campaign of armed terror against the Iranian people. In their report, they openly conspire to use what is an admitted terrorist organization as a “US proxy.”

Perhaps the most prominent (and certainly the most controversial) opposition group that has attracted attention as a potential U.S. proxy is the NCRI (National Council of Resistance of Iran), the political movement established by the MEK (Mujahedin-e Khalq).

The group’s champions contend that the movement’s long-standing opposition to the Iranian regime and record of successful attacks on and intelligence-gathering operations against the regime make it worthy of U.S. support. Raymond Tanter, one of the group’s supporters in the United States, contends that the MEK and the NCRI are allies for regime change in Tehran and also act as a useful proxy for gathering intelligence. The MEK’s greatest intelligence coup was the provision of intelligence in 2002 that led to the discovery of a secret site in Iran for enriching uranium.

Despite its defenders’ claims, the MEK remains on the U.S. government list of foreign terrorist organizations. In the 1970s, the group killed three U.S. officers and three civilian contractors in Iran. During the 1979-1980 hostage crisis, the group praised the decision to take America hostages, and Elaine Sciolino reported that within the group celebrations were widespread after the 9/11 attacks.

Undeniably, the group has conducted terrorist attacks – often excused by the MEK’s advocates because they are directed against the Iranian government. For example, in 1981, the group bombed the headquarters of the Islamic Republic Party, which was then the clerical leadership’s main political organization, killing an estimated 70 senior officials. More recently, the group has claimed credit for over a dozen mortar attacks, assassinations, and other assaults on Iranian civilian and military targets between 1998 and 2001.

It was also revealed in Seymour Hersh’s 2008 New Yorker article “Preparing the Battlefield,” that not only had MEK been considered for their role as a possible proxy, but that the US had already begun arming and financing them to wage war inside Iran.

The M.E.K. has been on the State Department’s terrorist list for more than a decade, yet in recent years the group has received arms and intelligence, directly or indirectly, from the United States. Some of the newly authorized covert funds, the Pentagon consultant told me, may well end up in M.E.K. coffers. Seymore Hersh in an NPR interview, also claims that select MEK members have received training in the US.

More recently, the British Daily Mail published a stunning admission by “US officials” that Israel is currently funding, training, arming, and working directly with MEK. The Daily Mail article states, “U.S. officials confirmed today that Israel has been funding and training Iranian dissidents to assassinate nuclear scientists involved in Iran’s nuclear program.” The article continues by claiming, “Washington insiders confirmed there is a close relationship between Mossad and MEK.”

Quite clearly, MEK is collaborating with the US State Department, the United Nations, the Israeli government, and with prominent US and British leaders.

What it Really Means

Obvious criminality is operating at the highest levels of US governance. Already, and for years, these perpetrators have supported a listed terrorist organization with both US and Iranian military, diplomatic, and civilian blood on its hands, and they will likely continue to do so, along with Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG) militants operating with full NATO support in Libya and now Syria, as well as Baluchistan terrorists supported in terrorist operations against both the Iranian and Pakistani governments.

The violence in Syria, now reported to be perpetrated by President Asaad’s regime, is obviously fomented by US-paid, trained, and guided insurgent groups like MEK.

What Americans are left with is irrefutable evidence that the “War on Terror” is a fraud – where anti-terrorism laws and designations are merely observed and selectively enforced for the convenience of self-serving political agendas. These agendas transcend presidencies and party lines. They sacrifice American lives and trillions of American taxpayer dollars into the ever-consuming maw of this contrived “clash of civilizations.”

Mojahedin-e-Khalq Organization (MEK, also PMOI, MKO) (Persian: سازمان مجاهدين خلق ايران sāzmān-e mojāhedin-e khalq-e irān) is a exile-Iranian organization that advocates the overthrow of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Founded in September 5, 1965 by a group of leftist Iranian university students as an Islamic and Marxist political mass movement, MEK was originally devoted to armed struggle against the Shah of Iran, capitalism, and Western imperialism. In the aftermath of the 1979 Iranian Revolution, the MEK and the Tudeh Party at first chose to side with the clerics led by Ayatollah Khomeini against the liberals, nationalists and other moderate forces within the revolution. A power struggle ensued, and by mid-1981, MEK was fighting street battles against the Ayatollah’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards.

During the Iran-Iraq War, the group was given refuge by Saddam Hussein and mounted attacks on Iran from within Iraqi territory. Government sources claim that over 17,000 Iranians were killed by the MEK.

The United States, Canada, Iraq and Iran have designated the MEK a terrorist organization. On January 26, 2009, following what the group called a “seven-year-long legal and political battle”, the Council of the European Union removed the MEK from the EU list of organisations it designates as terrorist.

The MEK and the NCRI claim to have provided the United States with intelligence on Iran’s nuclear program in 2002 and 2008. On September 6, 2011, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (MEK) elected Zohreh Akhyani as its new Secretary General for a two-year term. The new Secretary General joined the MEK 32 years ago following the revolution in Iran in 1979.

Other names

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran is known by a variety of names including:

  • Mojahedin-e-Khalq Organization (MEK)
  • The National Liberation Army of Iran (the group’s armed wing)
  • National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) – the MEK is the founding member of a coalition of organizations called the NCRI, while others including the U.S. FBI claims that the NCRI is either an “alias” for or a front group for the MEK. Both organizations share the same leader and offices. The MEK itself described the NCRI as its “Political Branch” in documents found by the FBI in December 2001.
  • Monafiqeen – the Iranian government consistently refers to the People’s Mujahedin with this derogatory name, meaning “the hypocrites”.

Membership

The MEK was believed to have a 5,000 – 7,000 strong armed guerrilla group, based in Iraq before the 2003 war, but a membership of between 3,000 – 5,000 is considered more likely. According to a 2003 article by the New York Times, the MEK would be composed of 5,000 — many of them female — fighters based in Iraq.

Anti-American Campaign

It has been alleged that MEK killed six Americans in 1973, 1975, and 1976.[37]

  • The MEK failed in an attempt to kidnap the U.S. Ambassador to Iran, Douglas MacArthur II, on November 30, 1971.
  • USAF Brig. Gen. Harold Price was wounded in a May 1972 assassination attempt.
  • The first success in the assassination campaign was the murder of Lt. Col. Louis Lee Hawkins, a U.S. Army comptroller. He was shot to death in front of his home in Tehran by two men on a motorcycle on 1973-06-02.
  • A car carrying U.S. Air Force officers Col. Paul Shaffer and Lt. Col. Jack Turner was trapped between two cars carrying armed men. They told the Iranian driver to lie down and then shot and killed the Americans. Six hours later a woman called reporters to claim the MEK carried out the attack as retaliation for the recent death of prisoners at the hands of Iranian authorities.
  • A car carrying three American employees of Rockwell International was attacked in May 1976. William Cottrell, Donald Smith, and Robert Krongard were killed. They had been working on the Ibex system for gathering intelligence on the neighboring USSR.

Relations with Iraq under Saddam Hussein

The MEK transferred its headquarters to Iraq in 1986, during the Iran–Iraq War. According to the US State Department, the MEK received all of its military support and most of its financial assistance from Saddam’s government until the 2003 Invasion of Iraq. The MEK also has used front organizations to solicit contributions from expatriate Iranian communities.

National Liberation Army of Iran

Near the end of the 1980-1988 war with Iran, a military force of 7000 members of the MEK, armed and equipped by Saddam’s Iraq and calling itself the National Liberation Army of Iran (NLA), went into action. On July 26, 1988, six days after the Ayatollah Khomeini had announced his acceptance of the UN brokered ceasefire resolution, the NLA advanced under heavy Iraqi air cover, crossing the Iranian border from Iraq. It seized and razed to the ground the Iranian town of Islamabad-e Gharb. As it advanced further into Iran, Iraq ceased its air support and Iranian forces cut off NLA supply lines and counterattacked under cover of fighter planes and helicopter gunships. On July 29 the NLA announced a voluntary withdrawal back to Iraq. The MEK claims it lost 1400 dead or missing and the Islamic Republic sustained 55,000 casualties (either IRGC, Basij forces, or the army). The Islamic Republic claims to have killed 4500 NLA and Iraqi troops during the operation. The operation was called Foroughe Javidan (Eternal Light) by the MEK and the counterattack Operation Mersad by the Iranian forces.

1988 executions of Iranian political prisoners

A large number of prisoners from the MEK, and a lesser number from other leftist opposition groups (somewhere between 1,400 and 30,000), were executed in 1988, following Operation Eternal Light.

In Iraq after the 2003 invasion

After the 2003 invasion of Iraq, MEK camps were bombed by coalition forces because of its alliance with Saddam Hussein. On April 15, U.S. Special Forces brokered a ceasefire agreement with the leaders of the MEK and entered into a ceasefire agreement with the coalition after the attack. Each compound surrendered without hostilities. In the operation, the US reportedly captured 6,000 MEK fighters and over 2,000 pieces of military equipment. This was a controversial agreement both in the public sphere and privately among the Bush administration due to the MEK’s designation as a terrorist organization by the U.S. State Department.

Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld declared MEK personnel in Ashraf protected persons under the Fourth Geneva Convention. They are currently under the guard of US Military. Defectors from this group are housed separately in a refugee camp within Camp Ashraf, and protected by U.S. Army military police (2003-current), U.S. Marines (2005–2007), and the Bulgarian Army (2006-current).

On January 1, 2009 the U.S. military transferred control of Camp Ashraf to the Iraqi government. On the same day, Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki announced that the militant group would not be allowed to base its operations from Iraqi soil.

Iraqi government’s crackdown

On January 23, 2009, and while on a visit to Tehran, Iraqi National Security Advisor Mowaffak al-Rubaie reiterated the Iraqi Prime Minister’s earlier announcement that the MEK organisation will no longer be able to base itself on Iraqi soil and stated that the members of the organisation will have to make a choice, either to go back to Iran or to go to a third country, adding that these measures will be implemented over the next two months.

On July 29, 2009, eleven Iranians were killed and over 500 were injured in a raid by Iraqi security on the MEK Camp Ashraf in Diyala province of Iraq. U.S. officials had long opposed a violent takeover of the camp northeast of Baghdad, and the raid is thought to symbolize the declining American influence in Iraq. After the raid, the U.S. Secretary of State stated the issue was “completely within [the Iraqi government’s] purview.” In the course of attack, 36 Iranian dissidents were arrested and removed from the camp to a prison in a town named Khalis where the arrestees went on hunger strike for 72 days, 7 of which was dry hunger strike. Finally, the dissidents were released when they were in an extremely critical condition and on the verge of death.

A “bargaining chip” between Tehran and Washington?

During the Iraq war, U.S. troops disarmed the MEK and posted guards at its bases. The U.S. military also protected and gave logistical support to the MEK as U.S. officials viewed the group as a high value source of intelligence on Iran. The MEK is credited with revealing Iran’s nuclear program in 2003 and alerting Americans to Iranian advancements in nuclear technology.

The same year that the French police raided the MEK’s properties in France (2003), Tehran attempted to negotiate with Washington. Iranian officials offered to withdraw military backing for Hamas and Hezbollah, and to give open access to their nuclear facilities in return for Western action in disbanding the MEK, which was revealed by Newsnight, a BBC current affairs program, in 2007. The BBC uncovered a letter written after the invasion of Iraq in 2003 where Tehran made this offer. The proposition was done in a secret letter to Washington via Switzerland. According to the BBC, the U.S. State Department received the letter from the highest levels of the Iranian government. According to Lawrence Wilkerson, former chief of staff of Secretary of State Colin Powell, interviewed by the BBC, the State Department initially considered the offer, but it was ultimately rejected by the office of Vice President Dick Cheney.

Nuclear issue

The MEK and the NCRI claim to be the first entities that revealed Iran’s nuclear activities in 2002, which has turned to be a major concern for the US and some of its allies today. Recently on Feb 20, 2008, the NCRI claimed to have revealed another nuclear site of Islamic Republic. This claim has never been independently verified.

The Mujahedeen claimed to have inflicted 40,000 Iranian casualties.
